Hello Teachers Greetings from the Center for Learning and Teaching.
Research from around the world continues to conclude that the quality of the teacher is the most significant factor influencing student learning (Darling-Hammond, 2000). What we do as teachers and how we do it, makes all the difference.
If we want our children to be able to critically think and problem solve, be creative and innovative in their ideas and have the ability to communicate and work collaboratively, it is critical that we need to be masters of above mentioned skills. At times, it makes us feel like we are drowning in a sea of rapid changes in the 21st century education landscape without having the correct tools to manage the changes.
The Cambridge PDQ's is one such opportunity which will allow you to become reflective practitioners and build upon your understanding of existing and new pedagogies. The PDQ's are for practicing teachers and educational leaders. The programme design is informed by research in cognitive studies and neuroscience that provide insight into how learning actually happens and what educators can do to ensure effectiveness. It will also give you an opportunity to work and learn from experienced colleagues.
If we want to do a good job of supporting the learning of children it is important that we are ready to take out time to nurture our own learning journey. The quality of this journey depends on the extent to which we bring an open and reflective attitude to all we do. Look forward to teachers taking responsibility for their learning and becoming life-long learners, we wish to create in our classrooms.
